ATTEMPTED COUP D'ETAT 1981

23-F was an attempted coup d'état in Spain that began on 23 February 1981 and ended on the following day. It is also known as El Tejerazo from the name of its most visible figure, Antonio Tejero, who led the failed coup's most notable event: the bursting into the Spanish Congress of Deputies by a group of 200 armed officers of the Guardia Civil during the process of electing Leopoldo Calvo Sotelo to be the country's new Prime Minister. King Juan Carlos I gave a nationally televised address denouncing the coup and urging the maintenance of law and the continuance of the democratically elected government. The coup soon collapsed. After holding the Parliament and cabinet hostage for 18 hours the hostage-takers surrendered the next morning without having harmed anyone.

DONNA SUMMER DEAD: Queen Of Disco Dies At 63

Donna Summer died Thursday morning after a battle with lung cancer.

Lovingly named the "Queen of Disco," the 63-year-old was in Florida at the time of her death, according to TMZ. Born LaDonna Adrian Gaines, the 5-time Grammy award winner rose to fame in the '70s with hits like "Hot Stuff," "Bad Girls" and "Love to Love You Baby."

La Guerra de Las Malvinas (English: Falklands War) was an armed conflict between Argentina and the United Kingdom held in the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and South Sandwich. The war took place between April 2, day of the Argentine landing on the islands, and June 14, 1982, the date of cessation of hostilities between Argentina and the United Kingdom of Great Britain, which led the reconquest of the three islands by the United Kingdom.

The cause was the struggle for sovereignty over these southern archipelagos, whose discovery is controversial, held alternately between Spain, France, Argentina and the United Kingdom (currently), Argentina considers that are occupied by an invading power and consider them as part of the province of Tierra del Fuego, Antartida e Islas del Atlántico Sur. 

After an invasion of the Falklands they also planned military invasion on islands Picton, Lennox and Nueva and others to attack the Cape Horn, which were part of regional discussions by Argentina and Chile. 

The final cost of the war in human lives was 649 Argentinian soldiers, 255 British and 3 civilians  islanders.

Politically, the defeat in the conflict in Argentina precipitated the fall of the military junta that ruled the country. In the UK, meanwhile, the victory in the confrontation helped the Conservative government of Margaret Thatcher to win reelection in 1983 election Later that  year it was possible to sign a treaty with Chile in 1984.

The consequences of the Falklands War were political, military and social. The Falklands War was the first modern naval conflict where they faced high-tech weapons. It was a confrontation between two Western nations, U.S. allies in the Cold War being waged at that time. Treaties were violated, there were excesses, there were parallel secret wars.

JOY RIDING

The driver of this car was 14 years old. He died instantly in a head-on crash. So did six others. 

14-year-old Scott Howard 'borrowed' his mother's Lancia Delta, gathered three friends and went for a joy-ride. But at 70 mph on a wet road, the car skidded out of control and crashed into a car coming the other way. Two of his passengers and all but one of the five people in the other vehicle died. The day after this accident, police in the Midlands stopped a stolen Ford Fiesta XR2 after a 110 mph motorway car chase. The driver was just 15. 

Joy-riding is one of the most common crimes committed by young people in Britain. Police estimate that a car is stolen every 30 seconds and that in some areas around 65 per cent of all cars stolen are used for joy-riding. 32 per cent of car thefts in London are by people under 17. Five percent of thefts are by 10-13 year olds.

At 15, Dave was given a second-hand car by a friend of his father. A week later, Dave had wrecked the car while attempting to teach himself to drive - so he stole another one. Dave, now 22, went on to become an accomplished joy-rider, taking friends on regular trips to the seaside and sometimes stealing cars every night.

AMY WINEHOUSE DIES

Amy Winehouse ha aparecido muerta en su hogar, en Londres, con 27 años, tal y como sucedió con Kurt Cobain, según informan varios medios de comunicación británicos entre los que se encuentran Sky News y Daily Mail. La cantante, conocida por su más que abusivo coqueteo con las drogas y el alcohol, ha fallecido esta misma tarde. Y, aunque de primeras se tomó como un rumor más que circulaba por las redes sociales, parece que la muerte deAmy Winehouse es una realidad.

Amy Winehouse fallece con tan solo 27 años (Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix y Jim Morrison murieron a los 27), sumándose a la estela de músicos que despuntaron por su talentosa voz y que terminarón enterrados por su adicción a las drogas. Su tema fetiche,'Rehab', queda ya relegado a la memoria.
